Be You

Be you. What does that mean? Take away the buzzwords: authentic and transparent. If you are really being you, cure
then you don’t need those words to describe yourself.

How do you be you? How do I be me?

I have struggled with this somewhat this past year in my writing. I’ve wanted to write the things that are really on my mind and heart – the things I’m passionate about and take first priority in my life. But I’ve been hesitant, look
and I know why. I’ve written so many posts about social media since 2012 and have an audience for that type of writing. I was afraid if I changed what I was writing about and took social media out of the picture then no one would want to read what I wrote. I thought they might think less of me or think I’m nuts. I thought they might judge me. I thought it might hurt my career in social media if I switched from writing about social media to writing about what’s most important to me.

I’ve always been hesitant to express my faith online. I generally shy away from all types of political and religious posts online. But then, tadalafil
I don’t consider myself to be political or religious. I’m a follower of Jesus, a child of God by faith. I read my Bible. I pray. I go to church and am involved there. And since this is such a large and important part of my life, then I should have the freedom to express that and share it online.

So this post is my first leap of faith online. The first time I write a post that is the type my heart most desires to write. A post that I hope will motivate and inspire. My first post about spirituality and God, and how it makes a difference in my life. I want the words that I write to be helpful, encouraging, probing, motivating, insightful and inspirational. I want others to get excited about the things I’m passionate about. I want others to find help and encouragement when they need it. Most of all, I want the words I write to be the medium in which God works in my life and in that of those who read them.

As a side note: I plan on publishing this from my website as I feel LinkedIn is not the place for this type of writing. I may be wrong about that, but I have my reasons for choosing not to publish there.

This is me being me. It’s more than a part of who I am. My relationship with God defines me. I am the person I am because God has a hold on my life. I belong to Him.

Here are some things that God says about me:

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.” Genesis 1:27, 31a

You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy.” Psalm 30:11

I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.” Jeremiah 31:3

“The Lord you God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love he will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17

I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” 2 Corinthians 6:18

God says that he created me and I am good. He clothes me with joy. He loves me with an everlasting love. He is my Father and I am his daughter. I am loved. So are you. God loves us in all our humanness. Yes, there are expectations once we’ve decided that our lives belong to him and we decide to follow his ways. But one fact does not change. Ever. He loves us.

I hope you’ll continue to follow along on this journey I’m taking. I hope you’ll find encouragement and motivation. I hope you’ll find your own place in God, as I have.

So you be you. I plan on being me.
